Recently we travelled to Mouliets-et-Villemartin in the Dordogne Region of France for Faye and Nicks Wedding.
Their stunning venue Chateau Rigaud is situated half way between Bergerac and Bordeaux with sweeping hills and vineyards as far as the eye can see, The Dordogne really is a region known for its stunning landscapes and historic architecture.
As we picked up our Fiat 500 from Bergerac Airport (the most Bijoux Airport we have ever seen) and headed out into rural France we were blown away by the sheer beauty and peacefulness of the place.
Settling in to our stunning AirBnB 5 minutes from the venue we couldn't wait for the big day to arrive.
The forecast for the wedding day was mixed to say the least and a truly thunderous day was had by all as we were caught up in the most torrential downpour we have ever witnessed and the perfect storm that is Faye and Nick.
Having first met Faye and Nick at Far Ings Nature Reserve near Barton Upon Humber on a “bump shoot” in 2020 here we were four years later photographing their wedding in rural France and what an honour it was.
Louder the life personalities which the biggest of hearts who made us feel more like Wedding Guests than photographers their day was a celebration of love and laughter and further proof a wedding day has absolutely nothing to do with the weather.
Big shout out to Hayley and the team at Chateau Rigaud. We have photographed weddings all over England and Europe but this place is sprinkled with a little extra stardust.
From the amazing team to the food which was without question the best we have ever tasted, we thank you all.
The honour really was truly ours.
