Lizzie & Josh: A Village Love Story That Led to an Unforgettable Summer Solstice Wedding
We are real suckers for a back story and these guys have one of the very best.
Some love stories are written in the stars, this one certainly so.
Starting in the playgrounds, school halls, and sun-drenched village lanes of Alvingham, Lizzie and Josh’s Story began when they were just five years old.
Over the years, friendship gently turned into something more (until Josh was mean to Lizzie's friend and was promptly dumped aged 10). At 18, they shared their first kiss, and from that moment, their story began to take shape in a whole new way.

THE WEDDING: Lincolnshire Wedding Photographer
Fast forward a decade, and on Saturday 21st June 2025—on the longest night and hottest day of the year—Lizzie and Josh were married in front of friends and family in an extraordinary celebration of love, community, and joy.
The ceremony took place at the beautiful St James’ Church in Louth, a setting full of history and character.
From there, guests were welcomed back to Alvingham for a reception like no other, a field transformed into a festival of love, music, and celebration, right in the heart of the village where it all began.
As the sun began to dip behind the trees, the evening came alive. Smoke bubbles floated through the warm twilight air, catching the golden light as Ellie Sax delivered a performance that left everyone breathless. DJ Arkaid
took over as the dancefloor erupted—an open-air party that didn’t let up for a second.
It was a celebration that felt as electric as it was heartfelt. The dancefloor stayed full well into the night, the sound of laughter and music carrying across the fields. And just when it felt like the day couldn’t get any more magical, a spectacular fireworks display lit up the night sky—a fitting finale for a love story that’s been decades in the making.
From childhood sweethearts to husband and wife, Lizzie and Josh’s wedding was more than a celebration. It was a homecoming, a festival, and a full-circle moment wrapped into one sun-drenched, joy-filled day.
A big shout out to Lucy Wright Events. The first time we have owrked with this wonderfully dedicated wedding planner and very much its not the last!
