Sarah and Michael, Oh Boy where do we start? When Sarah and Michael contacted us to Photograph their Wedding with only a few weeks to go they were delighted to find out we were free. Luckily we had a cancellation for their date a few months ago and we had decided not to fill it again unless something very special came up. We finally get married ourselves next week and with 64 weddings to shoot this year our schedule was already hectic enough. But something special indeed did come up. Every photographer has bucket list venues, you know the kind of venue that get the heart racing a little faster at the prospect of shooting there and Oaklands was one of ours. We had a Giant Tipi, A Ceremony on a Jetty over the Lake, A gorgeous Gin Bar, 2 Vintage Buses, A Fairground Carousel and Vintage Fairground Swing Boat, Birds of Prey, Archery, A Rodeo Bull, An Amazing Wedding Live Band, oh yeah and an Enchanted Woodland Fairy Lit First Dance….. Apologies if we forgot anything, there wasn’t much going on hahahahaha. Sarah and Michael are bonkers, but in the nicest way, full of life and the last men standing at a party. We are surprised Sarah managed to pose for photos never mind jump on the carousel after the amount of Gin Buckets she downed. We are absolutely delighted they got in touch with us when they did, and utterly privileged to have shared their big day with them at the only venue locally we had left to tick off our “done” list. The day will live long in the memory for us both and we hope the memories we created will live long in theirs too. What a blast. We must give a special mention to The Flower Garden Barton upon Humber for creating without doubt the best Wedding Floral Display we have ever seen. These guys are unbelievable.
