Rachel and Nick a Perfect Fit
Well what a wonderful day we shared with Rachel and Nick on their wedding day on Thursday August the 4th. Never to be conventional, these two laid back souls booked their wedding with only two months notice. It was fortunate it was a mid week wedding or we wouldn’t have been able to share their memories as weekends are booked from April to October without availability. From the moment we initially met Rachel and Nick, we knew their wedding was going to be a delight, its refreshing to meet to people so at one with each other, with no heirs and graces and no pretense whatsoever, just completely comfortable in their own skin and utterly in love. The day started with bridal prep at their home in Cottingham, where we met the bridesmaids, mum and more importantly the cats. Sticking with tradition and then some there was no panic or immediate need for concern when realising how late they were running, even a prompt from two photographers reminding them they were getting married in half an hour didn’t seem to phase them. The ceremony took place at the beautiful St Mary The Virgin in Cottingham, always a wonderful setting for a wedding. We must give a special shout to to the bridesmaids here for their creative posing and absolute sense of fun. As they walked out hand in hand out of the Church husband and wife the heavens opened, but never to be deterred we gave a little prayer to the weather gods and within two minutes the clouds dispersed to leave the sun shining for the rest of the day. From here we raced the wedding car across Hull to the magnificent Dunedin Country House in Patrington, East Yorkshire. We have never photographed a wedding here before but cannot wait to come back again, Mrs B and her staff run an efficient, friendly ship here and it was a pleasure to work along side them. Through the formalities and the time we got to spend with Rachel and Nick on their own, there really wasn’t a thing that could trouble these two, as Nick said to us prior to the wedding “its not like a wedding really, just a big family get together” and that’s why the day flowed some well. We really did go out with a bang, fireworks and sparklers added a touch of pizazz at the end of the day and also enabled us to show off a little and add some magic and sparkle. All in all a wonderful day, full of beautiful memories and just really good people. Thank you guys it was truly and honor. We wish you all the happiness in the world together, we won’t wish you luck because you won’t need it, because good things happen to good people.
